We met at the lawyer's office at 3pm

Beautiful Architecture on the 1896 Building

We closed and signed all the paperwork and were out of there by 4.  We went to our new property (still feels strange saying that!!) and walked around.  Well, we walked around after I took care of some business...
Pulling out the sign - it is no longer for sale :-)

No more sign!

We are beyond excited and looking forward to what the future holds!  Now to get the property ready for our house to move onto it - that is our next adventure...

Today is the day!

At 3:00 pm we will be property owners!  We are off to go buy some no trespassing signs & tape to mark the boundary lines better.

Just got a text that our realtor got the contract back signed!  Almost there!!!

It's getting closer!

Signed the contract (sent via email, scanned, & sent back in email - gotta love technology!)  and have the cashier's check in my possession.  Just waiting until Thursday at 3pm!

Candy Cane Hoffmaster

Another new adventure for our family is Candy Cane Hoffmaster.  We adopted her about 1 1/2 weeks ago and she is so sweet!  So we're in the process of moving AND now training a puppy!!  I know, I know - what are they thinking!?!?
  1. We just couldn't help ourselves
  2. She was free
  3. She was super friendly
  4. We missed having a dog around - Sorry Hannah, Pooh, & Stinky - cats aren't the same as a good doggy cuddle
  5. Did I mention she was FREE!

Buying Property

As some people know, we are very unhappy where we live because of the people moving by us and the owners. A couple years ago we were given a house that we were planning on fixing and selling. We started work on it and the person who gave it to us changed their mind and kept it. Needless to say we were devastated when she went back on her word and thought we were doomed to stay where we are.

I was talking with a friend at work in August and she mentioned that her sister is a real estate agent and she would get her to look. Later that afternoon, her sister had found what sounded like the perfect piece of land for us. The owner was willing to finance and it was 5 acres in a central location for our needs. We went and looked at the property a couple days later and fell in love. It has lots of trees and even a stream running across it!

So for the last several months, we have been working with the realtor about getting things settled on the land etc.  We close on the property this Thursday, December 30th at 3pm!  We are soooo excited! (Imagine seeing a couple of big people doing the happy dance!!)

Anyway, I am inspired by my cousin Courtney's blog about renovating their house and decided to do the same thing for our new adventure.  So for the rest of my break from work, we will be VERY busy working around the house getting ready for the big move.  Stay tuned for more adventures with the Hoffmasters!!
